Event description:
People of all ages are recognizing and embracing their transgender identity and seeking care in transition. Each person’s story is unique, but there are important standards of care for mental health practitioners supporting transgender people in their journey to living an authentic life. If you did not receive education or supervision specifically regarding gender and the transgender experience, you may be practicing beyond your competency. Ensure you are offering the optimal level of care for your transgender and gender queer clients with the Relationship Equality Foundation’s full-day workshop (5 CEs* pending approval). Our mission is to help mental health practitioners understand transgender identity development, societal impact on transgender and gender queer health, and how to help your transgender and genderqueer clients get the medical services they need.
*CEs pending approval for PSY, SWs, LPCs, and AASECT
